Previously, the manual procedure could take up to 18 months – Now, the first conclusions will come out within 2 minutes as the software will detect suspicious cases with a tax interest.
The new electronic crosschecking system which will be able to check the deposits and bank transactions of previous years within 1-2 minutes was presented by the Minister of Finance Mr. Euclidis Tsakalotos. Thus, contrary to the old manual sequence which lasted up to a year and a half, now the procedure will be able to lead to safe conclusions within a week.

The first conclusions will come out within 2 minutes as the software will detect suspicious cases with a tax interest.

“This project could have been completed before if the previous governments wanted to, but I say they didn’t want to” highlighted Mr. Tsakalotos. “The technical capability existed in the past” he points out. The Minister made it clear that he would not answer any questions regarding the negotiations.

“It is true that we have put pressure on a part of the middle classes”, he said this time, instead of “we have put pressure on the middle class” which he said on Monday at the Parliament, accusing the journalists of misquoting him saying that “we have levelled the middle class”.
