Extension of deadline to file tax declaration till August 31

The deadline for the filing of tax declarations for natural and legal persons is extended till August 31. The relevant provision is included in a relevant amendment of the Minister of Finance which will be submitted to the parliament, without, however, changing the timeframe to pay the taxes.

This means that the taxpayers who file their declarations until the new deadline will have to pay a double installment in August, namely including the July installment. The last installment will be paid at the end of February.

According to information, the 3% discount for a lump sum tax payment will only apply to the taxpayers who file their declarations and pay their taxes until the end of July.

According to the amendment:

“The deadline for the filing of 2022 tax declarations for natural and legal persons is extended till August 31, 2023. The two first of the eight installments will also have to be paid by this same date (August 31). The 3 % discount still applies to the taxpayers who pay the tax as a lump sum until July 31. For businesses with singly-entry bookkeeping, the income tax is paid in six monthly installments starting in September.”
