The 4th Annual Reaching for the Stars Gala is back this year— raising funds to make a difference in children’s lives and respond to the crisis in Greece.

“Reaching for the Stars: Anything is possible” is an SOS Children’s Villages fundraising Gala, a campaign by Voula McLaughlin, Zoe Karasavvidis and Anastasios Moussas that aims, for a fourth consecutive year, to change the lives of abandoned and abused children in Greece.

This year’s goal is to raise a minimum of $75,000 to continue the support of our two SOS Children’s Villages Greece families in Vari (Athens) and Plagiari (Thessaloniki) and additional support for the immediate needs of the Babies’ Centre in Maroussi.

Reaching for the Stars Gala is going to take place on Thursday November 2nd, 2017 at “The Grand Luxe Event Boutique” in Toronto and time 6:30 p.m.-11p.m. This year’s event featured cooking by Peter Minaki, and Canadian debut: exclusive performance of highly acclaimed Composer, Performer, Pericles Kanaris.

SOS Family expenses: includes the cost of living, food expenses, educational-professional training, psychological and psychosocial support and harmonization with the social environment. Each family consists of 5-7 children and one SOS Mother. The yearly expenses for food, clothing, education, pharmaceutical and medical expenses as well as the salary of the SOS Mother come up to $25,000CDN per family.
